Can I sell vacant land through PropertyNow?
Yes. Vacant land, whether a suburban block, a subdivision lot or a rural parcel, is listed under our standard sale package: $979 flat, on realestate.com.au, Domain and our partner portals, until sold. See What is included when selling a property?.
What's different about a land listing
- Property type. Choose Land (or Rural if it's rural-zoned acreage; see Can I list a rural property?). The portals then show it in their land searches and skip bedroom and bathroom fields.
- Frontage and depth. Buyers filter land by size, so fill in the land area and, if you have them, frontage and depth from your title or survey plan. See What does frontage and depth mean when listing land?.
- One lot per listing. Each title or lot needs its own listing, even adjacent ones, because the portals treat a listing as one property under one contract. If you have several lots, talk to us before you start; we may be able to help with a multi-listing rate. See Can I list multiple properties or rooms in one ad?.
- A block with a shed is still land. If there's no habitable dwelling, list it as land rather than a house, or the portals may reject it.
- Photos. Drone or elevated shots, a boundary overlay and a location map do most of the work. Our photographers can quote drone photography on request.
Contracts and disclosure
In NSW and the ACT a contract of sale needs to be prepared before land is advertised; in NSW that rule covers vacant residential land up to 2.5 hectares. Larger or rural holdings have their own rules. A quick word with your solicitor or conveyancer before you advertise is the easiest way to be sure. See Do I need a contract of sale before listing?.
