Is it possible to sell without an agent?
Yes — it's absolutely possible, and completely legal, to sell your property without a real estate agent.
There's no law requiring you to use an agent, and no evidence that agents are the only ones capable of achieving a great result. Thousands of Australians sell privately every year, and we've been helping them do it since 2006 — 20 years and counting.
Why sellers come out ahead
Private sellers often finish in front financially by avoiding large commissions and inflated marketing costs. Without those expenses, you've also got more room to price competitively if you need to — which puts your property in a stronger position, especially in a buyer's market.
And selling privately doesn't mean going it alone. You'll still be represented by a solicitor or conveyancer for the legal side — they draw up the contract and handle settlement, exactly as they would in an agent-led sale. Your job is the part no agent can do better than you anyway: knowing your home, showing it honestly, and talking to buyers.
Nervous? That's normal.
Most of our sellers are first-timers, and a bit of nerves at the start comes with the territory. That's what our team is for — real humans, seven days a week, with you from listing to sold. We'll help you get set up, keep your ad compliant, and talk through anything you're unsure about along the way.
Selling without an agent puts you in control — and with the right support and access to the major advertising platforms, it's usually simpler than people expect.
