Why hasn't my price updated?

If you’ve updated your price in the PropertyNow dashboard but the old price is still showing on Realestate.com.au or Domain, it is almost always due to one of the following three reasons.

1. The "10% Rule" (Search Price vs. Display Price)

This is the most common cause of "frozen" prices. To prevent underquoting (price baiting), Australian portals have strict rules regarding price ranges.

  • The Rule: The difference between the bottom and the top of your price range cannot exceed 10%.
  • The Result: If your display price differs from your search price by more than 10%, or you enter a display range of more than 10%, your display price will be automatically hidden, or the update will be rejected.
  • The Fix: Ensure your range is within 10% (e.g., $800k – $880k). Once you save a compliant range, the update should flow through.

2. The "3-Hour" Sync Window

While our system pushes your data to the portals instantly, they don't always refresh their public pages immediately.

  • The Reality: In about 80% of cases, the change is live within 30 minutes. However, during peak times, it can take up to 3 hours for the portal's "cache" to clear and show the new price to the public.
  • The Fix: Take a break and check back in a few hours. If it still hasn't changed, try refreshing your browser or checking the listing on a different device (like your phone).

3. "Price on Application" or "Contact Agent"

If you have changed your price to a specific number but your ad still says "Contact Agent," you may have a checkbox selected in your dashboard that overrides the numerical display.

  • The Fix: Check the 'Display' settings in your pricing section. Ensure you haven't accidentally selected "Hide Price" or "Contact Agent" if you want the specific dollar amount to show.

How to check if the update worked

Before reaching out to support, you can verify the update yourself:

  1. Double check the listing on realestate.com.au, ensuring you refresh the page and clear cache/cookigs.
  2. Double check you saved the price update within your PropertyNow account.

**Still not seeing the change after 3 hours? **Contact our support teamand we can manually "ping" the portal's server to force an update for you.
