Can I hide the sold price of my property?

When you mark your property as 'Sold' in your PropertyNow dashboard, our system requires you to enter the final sale price and the date of the sale. This information is necessary for our records and to notify the portals that the campaign has concluded.

However, we understand that you or your buyers may wish to keep this price private for a period of time.

Displaying the price on Portals

When you enter the sold details, you have the option to choose whether you want the price displayed on the "Sold" section of the major portals.

  • If you choose NOT to display: PropertyNow will send a "Price Withheld" instruction to the portals. The price will not appear on your listing's sold marketing through our feed.
  • Confirmation: Once you have updated your status to 'Sold' and selected your privacy preference, the change typically flows through to the portals within 1–3 hours.

Why the price might eventually appear anyway

It is important to understand that PropertyNow only controls the data sent during the active and immediate sold phase of your listing.

  • Data Partners: Major portals like Realestate.com.au and Domain have their own data partnerships with government agencies and Valuer General offices.
  • Public Record: Once the sale is officially settled and registered with the State Government (Land Registry), the sale price becomes a matter of public record.
  • Automatic Updates: The portals will eventually receive this official data and update their "Sold" history automatically. PropertyNow cannot prevent, hide, or remove this official government data once the portals have imported it from these third-party sources.

Summary of the process:

  1. Mark as Sold: Enter your price and date in your dashboard.
  2. Choose Privacy: Select the option to withhold the price from public view.
  3. Sync: We will update the portals to show "Price Withheld".
  4. Long-term: Be aware that the price will likely become public via government data syncs several weeks or months after settlement.
