Articles on: Pre-purchase questions

Would my property sell for a higher price with an agent?

Not necessarily — and in many cases, private sellers achieve just as strong (if not better) outcomes without one.

When you sell privately, you have a natural advantage: you're not paying thousands in commission or inflated marketing costs, so there's more flexibility in how you price and negotiate. That can put your property in a stronger position — especially in a competitive or price-sensitive market.

Even if you sell slightly below what an agent might quote, you can still come out ahead overall by avoiding those hefty fees. And as the owner, you know your property best. You're in the strongest position to answer questions, highlight its features, and negotiate with genuine motivation — all without pressure to close a sale simply to secure a commission.
