What is the maximum bond amount?
The maximum amount of bond varies depending on your tenancy location, type, and rent amount. Please see the table below for further information.
PropertyNow will automatically populate a bond amount when creating your lease agreement. If you wish to vary, please contact PropertyNow support before sending the lease to the tenant.

VIC | 1 month’s rent if weekly rent ≤ $900; no limit if weekly rent > $900 (or if VCAT orders a higher amount). |
QLD | 4 weeks’ rent if weekly rent ≤ $700; no statutory limit if weekly rent > $700. |
SA | 4 weeks if weekly rent ≤ $800; 6 weeks if > $800. |
WA | 4 weeks if weekly rent ≤ $1,200; no statutory limit if > $1,200. Separate capped pet bond possible (see below). |
TAS | 4 weeks’ rent maximum. |
NT | 4 weeks’ rent maximum (held on trust by landlord; no bond board). |
ACT | 4 weeks’ rent maximum. |
