Articles on: Managing my account and listings

How do I copy my listing into a different category, like sale to rent?

Yes, and you can do it yourself. If your property is listed for sale and you'd also like to advertise it for rent, or the other way round, add a second listing to the same property. Most of your details come across automatically, so you don't need to start from scratch.

How to do it

  1. Log in and click Manage Property & Edit Listings next to the property.
  2. Click Add listing at your address. Because the property already has a listing, you'll be asked to confirm. Click Create new listing.
  3. Choose Sale or Rent, and choose the same property type as your current listing. For a residential rental, you'll also pick your package.
  4. Check the details that have come across, add your price and inspection times, then continue to checkout.

What comes across

Your headline, description, photos, floorplans, features, property details, video link and external link. Details that only apply to the other category, such as pets, furnished and availability date for a rental, are left out so you can fill them in fresh.

What doesn't come across

  • Price. Set the price for the new listing.
  • Inspection times. Add these again.
  • Enquiry code. The new listing gets its own 4-digit enquiry code.

Good to know

  • Choose the same property type. If you pick a different one, for example Commercial instead of Residential, we set it up as a new property and nothing is copied across.
  • Each listing has its own listing fee. The two listings are separate, and your current listing stays exactly as it is.
  • Land and rural properties can only be listed for sale.
  • Commercial premises can be listed for sale and for lease, and both go to realcommercial.com.au and commercialrealestate.com.au.
  • If you only want to change your current listing, edit it instead of adding a new one.
