Can I change the tenants when I renew?

Yes, within limits. The full renewal flow starts with a page where you can adjust who is on the lease before the wizard opens.

What you can do in a renewal

• Remove a co-tenant who is moving out.
• Switch the primary tenant to another tenant who is already on the current agreement.

What needs a new tenancy agreement instead

• A brand new primary tenant. The primary tenant on a renewal must have been on the previous agreement. If someone new is taking over as the main tenant, create a new tenancy agreement rather than a renewal. The renewal page will stop you with a message if you try.
• All the tenants changing. That's a new tenancy, with its own bond and condition report.

What each tenant sees after a primary tenant switch

The outgoing primary tenant keeps access to the payment history for the period they were responsible for. The incoming primary tenant sees transactions from the date their agreement becomes active. Neither can see the other's period.
