How do tenants apply for my rental property?

This guide covers everything you and your prospective tenants need to know about the application process. At PropertyNow, we use 2Apply to ensure applications are fast, secure, and professional.

We strongly recommend that all tenants apply online via 2Apply. This system is designed to make your life easier by pre-verifying tenant details and organizing everything into a neat summary for your review.

Where do tenants find the "Apply" link?

Tenants can access your application form in several ways:

• On Domain & TenantApp: These portals feature a direct "Apply Now" button on your listing.
• On Realestate.com.au & Other Sites: Due to current portal settings, tenants will see a prompt to "Enquire" for the application link. As soon as they send an enquiry, our system instantly auto-replies with the 2Apply link.
• Direct from You: You can find your property’s unique application link within your Property Dashboard once the listing is live. You can copy this link and SMS or email it directly to anyone who attends your inspection.

Why we use 2Apply (and why it’s better than Ignite/REA)

You may notice that we have switched off the "Ignite" application button for now. This is because Ignite does not allow for data sharing, which prevented us from giving you the streamlined features you now enjoy.

The benefits of our updated 2Apply integration include:

• Instant Processing: Applications are processed in real-time, meaning you get updates faster than ever.
• Summary View: No more digging through 20-page PDFs. We provide a handy summary view in your PropertyNow account so you can assess the "big picture" (income, ID, and history) at a glance.
• Streamlined Tenant Checks: If you want to run a background check on a promising applicant, it’s now just a couple of clicks. The system pre-fills the tenant’s details for you, saving you the data entry.

What happens when a tenant applies?

1. Notification: We will send you an email the moment a new application is submitted.
2. Review: You can log in to your PropertyNow account to view the full application, including proof of ID, income, and rental history.
3. Returning Tenants: If a tenant has used 2Apply before, their details are saved, meaning they can apply for your property in seconds—which often means more applications for you!

The "Old School" Option: Printable Forms

While 99% of tenants prefer applying online, we know some people still like pen and paper.

You can find a Printable Tenancy Application form within your account:

1. Log in and click 'Forms & Downloads' on the left menu.
2. Navigate to Nationwide > Rental Forms and Templates.
3. Download and print the PDF to have on hand at your inspections.
