How do I mount or install my sign?

Installing your "For Sale" or "For Lease" sign is the final step in making your property launch official. Because every property has a different frontage—from brick walls to open lawns—our signs are designed to be versatile and easy to mount using basic hardware.

Your PropertyNow sign comes with 4 pre-fitted eyelets (grommets) to make installation as simple as possible. Depending on what is at the front of your property, here are the most effective ways to secure it:

1. Mounting to a Fence

If you have a fence at the front of your property, this is usually the easiest option.

  • Chainwire or Wire Fences: Simply use heavy-duty cable ties (zip ties) through the sign's eyelets to secure it directly to the wire.
  • Wooden or Pine Pickets: You can either cable-tie the sign to individual pickets or use small screws with washers to fix the sign firmly in place.
  • Brick or Concrete Walls: You will need a masonry drill bit and dynabolts or "green plugs" and screws to secure the sign into the mortar.

2. Installing on Soft Ground (Lawn or Garden)

If you don't have a fence, you will need to create a simple frame or support system.

  • Star Pickets: Purchase two "star pickets" from a hardware store like Bunnings. Hammer them into the ground and cable-tie the sign to the holes in the pickets.
  • Wooden Stakes: Use two sturdy timber garden stakes. You can screw the sign into the stakes before driving them into the ground.

3. Using a Frame

If you want a more "premium" look or need the sign to be double-sided:

  • You can build a simple timber "A-frame" or "H-frame" using pine from your local hardware store.
  • Secure the sign to the frame using screws or ties before placing it in the desired location.

Important Installation Tips

  • Visibility is Key: Ensure the sign is not obscured by bushes, trees, or parked cars. It should be clearly visible to traffic coming from both directions.
  • Check Your Council Rules: Most local councils allow temporary real estate signage on private property, but it's always worth a quick check if you live in a strictly regulated area or a heritage zone.
  • Safety First: Due to the variety of mounting conditions and the weight of various mounting equipment, we do not provide mounting hardware (like zip ties or pickets) with the sign.
  • Hardware Store Advice: Your local hardware team will be more than happy to help you select the right ties, screws, or pickets specific to your fence type or ground conditions.

Please note PropertyNow does not offer a sign installation service for standard signs or photosigns.
