# Why won't my listing title or description save?

If you click Continue on the Description step and get an error instead of moving on, the cause is almost always an emoji somewhere in your title or description. The listing editor now tells you when that's the problem: the error asks you to remove any emojis from your title and description.

### Why it happens

Emojis can't be saved with your listing, so the editor stops them before they cause a problem. This catches a lot of people who've drafted their ad with an AI tool, because those tools love to add emojis and tick marks.

### What to remove

* Emojis of any kind (house, sun, sparkles, hearts, flags, the lot)
* Emoji-style symbols that AI tools like to add, such as the coloured tick ✅, heavy tick ✔, sun ☀ and heart ❤, and the ™ and © marks

Ordinary punctuation is fine: full stops, commas, apostrophes, hyphens, brackets, dollar signs and percentages all work.

### The quickest fix

1. Copy your text into a plain notepad app (Notepad on Windows, TextEdit in plain text mode on Mac, or the Notes app on your phone). Emojis and symbols are much easier to spot there.
2. Delete them, or swap them for words. "✅ Air conditioning" becomes "Air conditioning".
3. Paste the cleaned text back into the title and description fields and click Continue.
