# Pausing your listing: Pause vs Pause & Refresh

Need to take your 'for sale' listing off the market for a while? You've got two options. Both live in your account — click **"Change Status"** on your listing, then **Pause**, and you'll see a popup explaining each option with pricing before anything is charged. If you change your mind, just close the popup.

**You get one Pause per listing.** Once you've used it, the $40 Pause option is no longer available — Pause & Refresh still is, and you can contact our team if you need longer.

Here's how to choose between them.

### Option 1: Pause — $40 (inc. GST)

**Choose this if** you're stepping off the market for under 2 months and want to resume your *current* listing when you're back.

* Your listing comes down from all websites but stays safely in your account.
* Un-pause any time, and it feeds back to every site at no extra charge.
* **If you've purchased the Allhomes upgrade, pausing forfeits it permanently.** It won't come back when you reactivate, and would need to be purchased again.
* When it returns, it keeps its original listing ID, list date and view count — so it comes back in its original search position.
* **Time limit:** 2 months maximum. If you haven't reactivated within 2 months, we'll automatically reactivate it for you (if you don't want that, just let our team know and we'll hold it).

### Option 2: Pause & Refresh — $500 (inc. GST)

**Choose this if** you're off the market for at least 3 months and want to come back with a completely fresh start.

Realestate.com.au allows a listing that's been fully offline for **three months** to relist as a brand-new listing — new ID, new list date, zero "days on market", a 'New' banner, and most importantly, a spot back at the top of standard listings in search results. It can be well-timed over a slower period (like a summer break) so you relaunch with maximum impact.

* **The catch:** REA requires the full three months offline — you can't un-pause sooner.
* **Time limit:** 6 months maximum.
* **Changed your mind?** If you decide not to come back to market, we'll refund the $500 in full, as long as you haven't reactivated the listing.

### What about rental listings?

Rental listings can't be paused, except in special circumstances.
